RehabTech Asia 2013, Asia’s first and only trade event for the assistive technology, integrated care and rehabilitation engineering industry recently opened its doors on the 27th of February, 2013 at Singapore’s Expo Convention & Exhibition Centre.
Occupying more than 10,000 sqm of exhibition space, RehabTech Asia 2013 saw the convergence of more than 65 exhibitors and industry leaders in the field of assistive technology and rehabilitation equipment. As a strategic partner of the exhibition, Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF) is also proud to be the organizer for the Singapore Pavilion, representing more than 30 companies in total.
Held at Hall 3 of the Singapore Expo Convention & Exhibition Centre, RehabTech Asia 2013 attracted more than 65 exhibitors from all over the world.
RehabTech Asia 2013 comes at a time where there is growing interest in self-determined living and long-term healthcare. “As a result of Singapore’s ageing population, the demand for healthcare service is expected to grow at an accelerated rate. A whole spectrum of healthcare services including integrated healthcare services, hospital management, laboratory services, healthcare consulting and other healthcare related services will be in demand by consumers,” commented Mr. Lam Joon Khoi, Secretary-General of SMF.

Guest-of-Honour, Dr. Amy Khor, Minister of State for Health and Manpower was also quick to notice the advancements in assistive and rehabilitative technology during her walk-around.
“We decided to participate in RehabTech Asia 2013 to network with other exhibitors and industry peers. As this is our first exhibition, we are excited to find out what our peers are doing. We also hope to create awareness for our products, which have been specifically designed and developed to aid recovery for stroke patients,” said Mr. Zen Koh, Managing Director of Hocoma Pte Ltd.
Mr. Koh was also eager to add that as a SMF member, he would be looking at future collaborations with the Federation to boost the presence of Singapore’s medical technology industry. “Singapore Manufacturing Federation is a good stepping stone for us to gain access to other industry peers both locally and globally; to learn from and share our knowledge with.”

From 27th February to 1st March 2013, participants and guests at RehabTech Asia 2013 can not only expect to visit the various booths, but also attend conferences and symposiums conducted by medical and healthcare professionals. This will not only provide the public with an opportunity to gain more insight into healthcare services, but will also be good learning grounds for those looking to venture into the industry.
The next RehabTech Asia exhibition is scheduled to take place in 2015.
