Productivity & Innovation (P&I)

Raising your company’s Productivity and Innovation is the only way to stay competitive in the global and domestic markets. SMa advocates a holistic approach to raising productivity levels and nurturing innovation, and strives to provide our members P&I initiatives, including automation, mindset change, innovative product development, lean productivity and developing production strategies.

  • WSQ Certified Productivity and Innovation Manager

    This programme aims to develop change agents within companies to apply business innovation tools. Modules covered in this competency-based training programme include 5S, Quality Systems, Lean Six Sigma and Business Process Re-engineering.
  • Customised Lean Six Sigma project implementation

    Consultants and SMa’s in-house Chief Productivity and Innovation Officer (CPIO) will assist companies that are keen in productivity diagnostics and customised project implementation to effectively address issues of speed, quality and cost and facilitate decision making processes.

  • Sustainable Manufacturing Label

    If you seek to establish a baseline on your company’s current sustainable practices, this programme assesses your sustainable manufacturing process’ maturity level and also highlights specific areas for further improvement.
  • Sustainable Manufacturing Programme

    The Sustainable Manufacturing Programme assists local manufacturers in making eco-efficient improvements. The process involves an initial evaluation of current manufacturing processes to identify ways to reduce energy and water consumption and green-house gas emissions, and the redesign products and services to meet new environmentally-friendly standards.
  • ISO 14064: Greenhouse Gases

Health, Safety, Security & Environment

A successful organisation begins with a safe and healthy work environment. Good workplace practices and standards promote a productive workforce and all employees are encouraged to take ownership for workplace safety and health, and proactively plan to minimise risks.

The HSSE Function Committee collaborates with various industry partners through projects such as seminars, events and initiatives to promote good corporate social responsibility in areas of health, safety, security and environment practices and standards in the manufacturing sector.

Supply Chain Management

  • eSupply Chain Management (eSCM) Assessment Framework

    The eSCM Assessment Programme is a national initiative to improve the adoption of eSupply Chain Management in Singapore. The Programme is a fresh performance-enhancing tool aimed at streamlining company supply chain and enhancing customer service. An eSCM assessed company will have an independent and transparent verification of its eSCM capabilities against world-class practices and understand opportunities for improving business performance and address gaps against its peers.

    • Cold Chain Management

      The Singapore Cold Chain Centre is a resource centre for cold chain management standards, providing research & development, training, certification and support in the production and delivery of perishable food products.
