The ASEAN-India Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (Overseas Indian Day) Convention, 6-7 January 2018 at the Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre, Singapore.
The Government of India and the High Commission of India in Singapore are hosting the historic event as part of the year-long commemoration of 25 years of ASEAN-India Partnership, which will culminate in the ASEAN- India Commemorative Summit in Delhi around India’s Republic Day on 26 January 2018.
We hope that you will be able to participate in this event, including the Plenary Sessions and the Gala Dinner as it will feature one of the biggest business meets on India and ASEAN in Singapore.
There will be a full day of sessions on ASEAN-India Economic Partnership; India and ASEAN in the Digital World, Infrastructure, Financial Partnership, expanding trade and services, legal framework of Doing Business in India, Make in India, Science & Technology, and Tourism and Connectivity.
In addition, there will be a two-day event on January 5-6 January 2018 on India-Singapore/ASEAN Entrepreneurship Bridge (InSpreneur) at Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre. This event will focus on startups, fintech, e-Governance, cyber security and disruptive technologies for manufacturing. Over 100 startups and leading policy makers in digital space from India will come for the event.
The External Affairs Minister of India, Mrs. Sushma Swaraj; Minister in-charge of infrastructure development Mr. Nitin Gadkari, two key Chief Ministers and officials from economic ministries in New Delhi and around 40 top business leaders from India are coming for the event.
Minister for Trade and Industry, Mr. S. Iswaran; Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security, Mr. Teo Chee Hean and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan are among the dignitaries from Singapore participating in the event. A number of business leaders from Singapore and ASEAN region are also speaking in various sessions.
The India High Commission is also pleased to have as partners a number of organisations, including the Singapore Tourism Board, Singapore India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI), Institute of South Asian Studies (ISAS), ASEAN-India Business Council, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and a number of professional organisations, for the event.
In all, there are 16 thematic sessions and over 50 eminent speakers from India and ASEAN region. Other sessions cover areas such as politics, culture, youth, education, research, science and technology, etc.
In addition, there are full days of Writer’s Festival, Cinema Festival, Art Exhibition, Photo Exhibition, Ayurveda and Yoga (all showcasing ASEAN-based Indian diaspora talent), besides a Gala Dinner with a great cultural show on January 7, 2018.
