30 May 2017 – His Excellency Marc Abensour, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Singapore made a courtesy visit to SMF. His visit was to learn more about the Federation and the manufacturing industry in Singapore.

SMF President, Mr Douglas Foo hosted him and updated His Excellency on the initiatives that SMF are undertaken to transform manufacturing companies towards riding the wave of Industry 4.0.

Singapore and France share longstanding and multi-faceted relations, as reflected in the Joint Declaration on Strategic Partnership signed in October 2012. Both countries enjoy excellent cooperation in the economic, defence and cultural sectors, as well as extensive educational, research and development links.

Moving ahead, more cooperation can be strengthened in the field of technology, particularly in advanced engineering, transport solutions, sustainable urban development, FinTech and satellite technology.
