04 Jan 2018 - His Excellency Dr Usen Abdikadyruly Suleimen, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Singapore, paid a courtesy visit to Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF). His visit aimed to explore possible collaborations between SMF and the Kazakhstan Embassy, such as SMF organising future business missions to Kazakhstan.

SMF President Mr Douglas Foo hosted his Excellency and both parties enjoyed a discussion over a range of topics which included exploring more opportunities for collaboration via business missions and trade fairs, an MOU signing between both organisations as well as paving the way for a possible working luncheon meeting in the near future to further explore and discuss working models.

Singapore seeks to strengthen economic relations with Kazakhstan through the Bilateral Investment Treaty and a Free Trade Agreement with the Eurasian Economic Union, of which Kazakhstan has expressed support for the proposed Singapore-Eurasian Economic Union Free Trade Agreement, a reflection of growing bilateral and economic cooperation between both countries.
