Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt visits SMF

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Singapore, His Excellency Mohamed Ahmed Fathi Abulkheir, paid a courtesy visit to Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF).
Both SMF President Mr Douglas Foo and SMF Council member Mr Saw Ken Wye warmly received His Excellency on his visit to understand SMF and the local manufacturing industry better.

26 January 2018 - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Singapore, His Excellency Mohamed Ahmed Fathi Abulkheir, paid a courtesy visit to Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF).
Both SMF President Mr Douglas Foo and SMF Council member Mr Saw Ken Wye warmly received His Excellency on his visit to understand SMF and the local manufacturing industry better.


Besides the current socio-economic situation and history of Egypt, the discussion also focused on the impending visit by the Egyptian Minister of Trade and industry, His Excellency Tarek Kabil, to Singapore in early February which will further explore the potential of Egypt as an investment destination for Singapore companies.


Amidst comprehensive economic reforms in Egypt to improve the business environment and attract more foreign investors, bilateral trade between Egypt and Singapore reached $679.1 million in 2015, with discussions underway over a possible collaboration on establishing an industrial park in the Suez Canal Economic Zone.
