SMF led Business Mission to New Delhi

The Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF) led a group of six Singapore companies from the Food & Beverage Industry on a business mission from 13 to 16 January 2019 to explore business opportunities in sunny New Delhi, India.

21 January 2019 -  The Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF) led a group of six Singapore companies from the Food & Beverage Industry on a business mission from 13 to 16 January 2019 to explore business opportunities in sunny New Delhi, India.

The Singapore delegation attended a networking session hosted by Indus Food 2019 on 14 January at New Delhi.


During the three-day business mission, the delegation visited Indus Food 2019, where more than 300 Indian companies from the same industry showcased a line-up of food and agricultural products. The delegation was also kept busy with many Business Matching sessions that were pre-arranged by the SMF and the Trade Promotion Council of India (TPCI). These Business Matching sessions helped companies from both nations explore possible opportunities for business collaboration. The business mission concluded with a visit to SPENCER’s Supermarket by the Singapore delegation to gain an insight into its operations as well as New Delhi’s consumers’ culture.

The delegation was involved in many business matching sessions with Indian companies during the business mission.


With a population of 1 billion people, India is a huge market that carries many business opportunities for Singapore. In 2017, India was Singapore’s 10th largest trading partner and the 10th largest export destination1
