The SMF’s Energy and Chemical Industry Group (E&C IG) presented the fourth episode of the Engineering TV series on 3 September 2020 to update participants on the advances of low-carbon technology and ways to manage their carbon footprint.
During the webinar, the Energy Studies Institute shared Singapore’s strategies to achieve the 2030 pledge, which is to reduce Emission Intensity (EI) – the amount of greenhouse gases emitted per dollar GDP – by 36 percent from 2005 levels by 2030, and to stabilise emissions with the aim of peaking around 2030. Speakers from Chevron Singapore Pte Ltd, MAKO Energy, and Spectronik Pte Ltd then shared the technologies available now to reduce carbon emission and can serve as alternative energy for a greener future in Singapore.
