On 29th December 2020, His Excellency Jean de Dieu Uwihanganye, High Commissioner of the Republic of Rwanda to Singapore, paid a courtesy visit to the Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF).
On 29th December 2020, His Excellency Jean de Dieu Uwihanganye, High Commissioner of the Republic of Rwanda to Singapore, paid a courtesy visit to the Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF). SMF President, Mr Douglas Foo warmly welcomed HE Jean de Dieu Uwihanganye and Seetoh Kah Mun, Communications and Corporate Events officer, from the High Commission of the Republic of Rwanda for their visits to understand the role of SMF and the local manufacturing sector in exploring any opportunities for collaboration.
Prior to his appointment as High Commissioner of the Republic of Rwanda to Singapore, His Excellency Jean de Dieu Uwihanganye had previously been Minister of State for Transport in the Government of Rwanda. HE Jean de Dieu Uwihanganye is a construction business leader who has managed and led various construction projects with experience in both operational, research, academic, managerial and leadership roles in construction projects in developing countries.

During the visit, SMF President, Mr Douglas Foo addressed that SMF could help be the bridge for training collaborations with Rwanda companies. He also shared about the SMF Centre for Corporate Learning (CCL), which trains more than 10,000 people annually through a wide range of programs and seminars. In addition, the course will bring value to organizations through the introduction of practical skills and modern business knowledge to employees to empower the workforce at all levels.
They also discussed how the Singapore Enterprise Europe Network (EEN Singapore) could get SMF members to work with Rwandan companies to promote and support business, technology and research and development partnerships in Europe.
