Food Standards Committee (FSC) jointly organises this workshop with NYP and DSM on 16 Nov 2017 where participants learned about product conceptualisation and development via lecture and mock-up session. The first step in the development of food product that qualifies for approved nutrition or health claims is the conceptualisation of product design from product ideas. It is important to understand the needs of the consumer market the product will be designed for and the potential price point the market will pay. Next, it is to move the concept towards a viable prototype where considerations are needed on ingredients and regulatory requirements. The workshop attracted 45 participants from 27 organisations.
